Open House London 2012

Open House London 2012, an Open-city initiative, celebrates all that is best about the capital’s buildings, places and neighbourhoods. Every September, it gives a unique opportunity to get out and under the skin of London’s amazing architecture, with over 700 buildings of all kinds opening their doors to everyone – all for free. The event attracts tens of thousands of people. It is often possible to turn up and go straight into some establishments, although queues are an hour or two long at the most popular buildings, while in other cases admission is by advance booking of a guided tour only.

The dates for Open House London in 2012 are 22 & 23 September

What will I find when I get to the buildings?

At many of the 750 sites, there will be someone to show you around and answer your questions. These are the Open House guides and stewards, and there are thousands of them – some professional, some amateur enthusiast, all volunteering their time and knowledge.

Do I need to book?

Entry to a few of the properties will require you to book in advance. Where this is through the building contact details are given. Bookings administered by Open House are indicated.

There are also walking and jogging tours, cycle rides, talks, competitions and family activities.
The online search and listings will now go live on MONDAY 20 August at 12NOON.
