Pancake Day: 4 places where you can eat the best pancakes in London

Next Tuesday (February 12 2013) is the Shrove Tuesday  ( the 'Fat Tuesday' in Christian tradition), so forget about the diet for one day and enjoy the dessert.
Chocolate and strawberry pancakes

Even the tradition refers to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday and pancakes are perfect because they are a way to use up rich foods such as eggs, milk, and sugar.

Here are the best places for pancakes in London:

They have branches in Soho, Angel, Hoxton and Spitalfields. They have a tempting range of sweet and savoury fillings. Despite the name, breakfast, they also do sandwiches, salads and burgers.
On Tuesday they organise ‘Annual Breakfast Club Pancake Challenge’. Can you eat 12 pancakes in 20 minutes?
They also put together a selection of the finest pancake toppings, from the classic traditional to the downright weird only on Tuesday.

Savoury Crepes by Crepe Affaire

It is a place where you can enjoy freshly prepared crêpes (more than 10 sweet fillings and 16 savoury) at any time of the day whith fun and relaxed spot where great food is prepared in front of you.
They also have a funny mascot and hero called Crêpeman, who looks a bit like a big crêpe. If you want to meet him you can go to Westfield Stratford on Monday: he will be there all day to celebrate the Pancake Day!

In the heart of South Kensington, there is this ‘French Quarter’ of London where you can taste a wide range of crepes, freshly-made waffles with a variety of toppings, fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies and juices, and milkshakes.
And if you can’t find the filling you fancy then why not ask to their chefs if you can create your own.

Butterscotch Menu

This is literally the pancake house with the brand new 'butterscotch' menu.
It was established in 1958 and offers savoury and sweet pancakes as well as a selection of salads, traditional Dutch starters and desserts.
The atmosphere is warm friendly and relaxed which makes it a great place to come for families and kids.

Which is your favourite topping? Sweet or savoury? Do you know any other place that we can add to this list?
